Riot Angel Test Panel 01

This is one of the panels I made to experiment with some of the composition and shading techniques for my upcoming web-manga "Riot Angel". I didn't realize how much more depth and interest traditional screen tones add to manga compared to smooth computer gradients. The problem is, screen tones usually look pretty terrible on a computer screen. I ended up using a lot of ex post facto textures to add more life to image. But I don't think you should have to add a lot of additional effects to be satisfied with your work. I've started on another test panel trying to create more texture at the inking and toning stages.
